He makes frequent trips to towns and villages near Throffhorn. During one visit to WoodVale he was captured by goblins. Later he was rescued by the companions. He in return helped Durenda out with her illness. He is one possible contact in Houkahtan for Maxwell and his cohorts (pertainning to the Crynexicon.) first mentioned in: #10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Belonda: (BELL-lon-da) Belonda is the Goddess of woods and woodland creatures. She is the patron of Durenda and the druids of the Sacred Grove of Tharn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Craedus: (CRAY-dus) Craedus Stonbeard is a member of the Stonebeard clan that lives in the Tower peaks, a mountain range west of the kingdom of Houkahtan. He is currently in search of the Lost City of the Dwarves. He is a brave an cunny warrior. He can at times be stubborn, tempermental and gruff. He often complains and is in a sour mood. He loves battle and finds great honor in vanquishing his enemies. He often gets caried away and falls into a battle lust. He is an expert miner but can't read a map. Physical description: Craedus is a male Mountain Dwarf. He is of average height for his race standing at 4'1". He is average looking in appearance wieghing in at 157 lbs. He has long black hair and a long black beard that is often times braided and tied with a "lucky" golden string. He has a thick face with average features (for a dwarf -- meaning a broad nose and thick forehead. He has brown eyes. He wears brown colored tunics and jerkins. In combat he wears chainmail over his clothes. He has no unusually distinguishing features. She has been groomed her whole life to become a caretaker of the grove. She is a small petite woman with a sweet nature. She is soft spoken and somewhat shy. She left her forest home in search of a cure for the strange dreams she has been experiencing. She shares a special bond with Tyrahne (romantic ties). Physical description: Durenda is a female Human (with a Fey bloodline). She is short for her race standing at 5'3". She is petite looking in appearance wieghing in at 106 lbs. She has long blonde hair that she often wears untied. She has a slender with beautiful features. She has pale blue eyes. She wears pale green colored tunics and jerkins under a green or rust colored robe. In combat she wears her leathermail under her robes. She has no unusually distinguishing features. She was the means of their escape from Raven's groups attack at the Woodland King inn. During thier escape Lanneth's magic caused the gate to fail and throw Maxwell and his cohorts into an unknown realm. first appeared in: #10 battled Raven's group and escaped through her gate: #10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Faumbul: (fawm-BOOL)Faumbul is a reknown sage of Throffhorn. The companions, looking for information about opening the gateway in WoodVale, go to him under the advice of Alexander. Faumbul is a wisened old man that is a master at gate travel and creating unique magical items. He sends the companions to Auiden to search for Mygellex. Faumbul has a hidden adgenda the companions will soon learn. first appearance: #26 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flaming Skulls: This is one of the two thieve's guilds that are competing for control of the underground dealings of the trading city of Throffhorn. Lead by an unnamed guildmaster, the Flaming Skull's try to control the city with brute force and fear tactics unlike thier adversaries the Shadow Daggers who use cunning and stealth. A Flaming Skull can be identified by a signature ring that each members wears. The type of ring worn depends on the thief's status within the guild but all are similiar in style. Basically they look like a serpent with a skulls head that is eating its own tail. Guild officials may have rings with ruby eyes or two skulled seprents eating each others tails. Flaming Skulls often work in broad daylight and tend to be bullies rather than sneaks. The Flaming Skulls were tricked by Herrod, guildmaster of the Shadow Daggers, into believing Slink had murdered one of their own. The Flaming Skulls attacked Slink at the Golden Griffon to exact their revenge, unknownly doing the dirty work for Herrod and the Shadow Daggers. first mentioned: #1 first appearance: #5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gihgas: (GEE-gas) Gihgas was a very powerful archmage that was said to cause holes in reality everytime he used his powers. Whether this is true or not, he was the first wizard to control (and create?) gateways to other realms and dimensions. These gateways became known as Gihgas Gateways. Gihgas protected the realm against evil for many years until on day he mysteriously disappeared. No one knows why for sure. first mentioned: #21 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Glorimus: (Glore-i-mus) The companions found Glorimus' body among the other dried husks in a Woodland Spider's lair, while search the forest west of WoodVale for a goblin's lair. On his body was a sack that contained treasure including a Limbrue seed, a mpa to the Limbrue Tree and a letter to the High Priests of Thauaras. happened in: #17 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Golden Leaves: The Golden Leaves are a group of Rangers that are sworn to protect the woods and forests surrounding Throffhorn, WoodVale and beyond. They are fanatical about there duties and have often came to odds with other rangers. Malyke and Tyrahne once had a run in with them. first mentioned in: #25 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grudus Strongaxe: (GREW-dus STRONG-axe) Grudus was the leader of the first clan of dwarves of the Tower Peaks. He is percieved as a great dwarven hero amoung the Mountain Dwarves. Since then there was been many greast clans from his blood line including the Stonebeard clan. Craedus is part of the eighth generation of Stonebeards. first mentioned in: #9 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gwereth: (GWAIR-eth) Gwereth is the advisor to Moonstar. He is a priest of the Thauaras fiath and also an illusionist. He is very wise and level headed witha great amount of patience. He is often guiding Moonstar way from rash decisions. He is very close to Moonstar and treats her like the daughter he never had. Physical description: Gwereth is a male Human. He is of average height for his race standing at 6'0". He is average looking in appearance wieghing in at 170 lbs. He has very short thin hair which is graying slightly at his temples. He has a squarish face with average features. He has brown eyes. He wears grey or tan colored tunics and jerkins under pale colored robes. He also wears these in combat. He has no unusually distinguishing features. Lanneth is very gifted in the ways of magik. He is cursed with a chaotic nature (unacceptable by elf standards) and a lust ofr anything magic. He was forced out of his homeland by the elf elders in hopes that he would be humbled by the chaotic and violent ways of man. He is quiet and brooding by nature and is finding it hard to blend in with the societies of man. Physical description: Lanneth is a male High Elf. He is tall for his race standing at 5'7". He is slender in appearance wieghing in at 108 lbs. He has long blonde hair which is usually tied back in a single pony tail. He has a slender face with the usual sharp elven features. He has unusally long ears. He has soft green eyes. He wears plain grey or tan robes over a tunic and jerkins. He wears this in combat also. He has no unusually distinguishing features. He is currently a gate guardsman for Throffhorn. The compnaion's encounter Malyke when they try to sneak back into Throffhorn. first appearance: #25 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mathias: Mathaias, (also known as Myrimar by Durenda) is the strange fire mage that attacked WoodVale and started the forest fire that destroyed the northern part of the town. He seems to be after Durneda and Lanneth for some unknown purpose. first mentioned: #3 (as "old mage") first appearance: #13 (as strange fire mage) escaped by teleportation in: #15 encountered by companions in secret lab and escaped down a chute in: #18 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maxwell: Maxwell is the mark/hit that both Slink and Raven are following. In Throffhorn Maxwell uses Herrod and his guild to throw them off his trail. He is an evil being (a demon posing as a human) that is possession of a mystic cube, the Crynexicon, which he plans on using to destroy the Houkahtan kingdom. He is purely evil that will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. He showers them with attention in exchange for being pampered. He fancies himself as a ladies man and swashbuckler extraordinaire. He is a very skilled with the harp but can't sing a note. He can be very charming at times. He can also be a bit cowardly in battle and tends to complain alot. He was developed on crush on Raven (who seems to be able to resist his charm but humors him on occasion.) Physical description: Merrick is a male Half Elf (Wood elf mother, Human father). He is of average hieght for his race standing at 5'8". He is average looking in appearance wieghing in at 135 lbs. He has short brown hair and a thin, well trimmed mustache. He has a slender face with elven features. He is often mistaken for a full elf (that is why he grew the moustache). He has hazel eyes. He wears flashy colored tunics and jerkins (his "swashbuckler" attire) with a patchworked cloak. In combat he wears leathermail over his clothes. He has no unusually distinguishing features. She is often impetuous and stubborn and very set in her ways. She can be fierce when it comes to her faith in her God. She comes across as pushy and bossy but is a trusting and just ally to have. She is always in the company on her advisor Gwereth. Physical description: Moonstar is a female Human. She is of average height for her race standing at 5'7". She is slender looking in appearance wieghing in at 121 lbs. She has long curly red hair that she often wears pulled up at the sides or tied back in a thick ponytail. She has a round with "cute" features. She has brown eyes. She wears green colored tunics and jerkins under a bright green robe. In combat she wears her chainmail inscribed with the symbol of Thauaras. She has no unusually distinguishing features. He was once a close (and romantic) associate of Raven's. He was part of a set up to through both Raven and Slink of Maxwell's trail in #1 through #5. Jack has a silver tounge and the charm to go with it. He is an excellent swordsman and has a sharp tounge to match. He is a very secretive and dangerous man. After Lanneth disrupted the Gighas gate in Woodvale, Jack disappeared with Maxwell, Demmer and Ezmerelda. She was the first and only woman to be allowed into the order. Her father is the Houkahtan Arms Master. She was betrayed by her former comrades and banished from the order. She has since become a mercenary for hire and a bounty hunter. She has become somewhat bitter and cold and quite withdrawl and untrusting. She has a militaristic streak, which is left over from her army days, and often takes charge of the situation. She longs for the day that she can redeem herself in her fathers eyes and one day return to the order of the Houkahtan Knights. Physical description: Raven is a female Human. She is tall for her race standing at 6'1". She is muscular looking in appearance wieghing in at 158 lbs. She has long black hair that she often wears tied back or in one long braid. She has a round face with beautiful features. She has deep blue eyes. She wears pale colored tunics and jerkins and usually has on thick boots. She is always wearing her Golden Star of Houkahtan medallion. In combat she wears her bandedmail. When she is in need of stealth (usually when she is stalking a mark, she wears her black leathermail.) She has no unusually distinguishing features. They are in competition with the Flaming Skulls. Their guildmaster is Master Herrod. The Shadow Daggers use cunning and stealth to get their business done unlike thier adversaries the Flaming Skulls who use brute force and fear tactics. AShadow Dagger can be identified by the mis-matched armor that each memeber wears (which is part of an initiation process.) Each Shadow Dagger has the blurred image of a dagger inscribed on his armor somewhere. This image is only viewable in dimly light, shadowy areas. It is never seen in full light or sunlit areas. Herrod tricked the Flaming Skulls into believing that Slink had murdered one of their own. The Flaming Skulls attacked Slink at the Golden Griffon to exact their revenge, unknownly doing the dirty work for Herrod and the Shadow Daggers. This left Herrod free to deal with Maxwell and the stole item that Slink was after. first appearance: #2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Slink: Slink is an orphan that grew up on the streets of Newport before being taken in by a thief. He was eventually inducted into the thoeves guild in Newport and became its star pupil. He has since left the Newport guild to seek fame, fortune and adventure by looting and taking odd jobs as a merchants guard and a bounty hunter. He calls himself a "master acquirer." Slink is a smart ass at heart and always has a smart comment for every occassion. He is greedy, likes to party and always has an eye out for a pretty barmaid. Physical description: Slink is a male Human. He is of average height for his race standing at 5'11". He is average looking in appearance wieghing in at 165 lbs. He has short brown curly hair. Moonstar and Gwereth belong to His faith. first mentioned: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trelkaman: (TREL-ka-man) Maxwell supposedly seduced Trelkaman's daughter and ran off with the family diamonds. This is why Raven was hired to track him down. first mentioned: #5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tyrahne: (TIE - rain) Tyrahne is a ranger that lives in a small cottage outside of Throffhorn. He likes the seclusion and the ability to commune with nature their. He is the self-proclaimed protector of the woods their. He is a brave and just person. He is bold and often takes charge of a situation if no one else steps forward to lead the way. He was very keen senses and is in top physical shape. He shares a special bond with Durenda (romantic ties). Physical description: Tyrahne is a male Human. He is tall for his race standing at 6'4". He is athletic looking in appearance weighing in at 190 lbs. He has shoulder length light brown hair. He has a bold looks and a sqaure jaw with handsome features. He has amber colored eyes. He wears pale green, rust, golden, brown or tan colored tunics and jerkins (colors of nature). In combat he wears full green leathermail over his clothes. He has no unusually distinguishing features. After teaching Slink the basics in thievery, Verdain had him tested at the Newport Thieve's Guild. Slink was accepted into the guild and Verdain went on to a high ranking job within the guild.
